As a member of the Education and the Workforce Committee and Chairman of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Subcommittee, Congressman Burgess Owens is dedicated to fostering the best opportunities for students to learn, workers to succeed, and the job creators of tomorrow to thrive.

Small Business

From manufacturing to the restaurant industry and every sector in between, Utah thrives on small businesses. They form the backbone of our state’s economy, propelling Utah to new heights. Our success is attributed to a business-friendly environment, competitive free-market principles, and state-level policies that foster innovation and expansion. To sustain this upward momentum, it’s imperative to reduce government intervention. Congressman Burgess Owens has been actively engaged in visiting small businesses across every corner of Utah’s Fourth District. Furthermore, he has diligently worked to amplify their voices in Washington, advocating for policies that support their growth and prosperity. Anti-Trafficking

Human trafficking is a heinous crime that impacts people of all ages in communities worldwide. It is estimated that over 25 million people are subjected to human trafficking and forced labor, an industry responsible for roughly $150 billion annually. In Congress and as a member of the Parliamentary Task Force on Human Trafficking, Congressman Burgess Owens is focused on pursuing awareness, prevention, and survivor relief policies that abolish these heinous crimes, target traffickers, and restore the lives and livelihoods of those impacted.
