Owens Backs House Resolution to Bar Biden’s Proposed Title IX Rule

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) co-sponsored a House resolution under the Congressional Review Act to overturn the Biden administration’s proposed rule to introduce radical sexual orientation and gender identity language into Title IX.

“As a former athlete, I know firsthand the blood, sweat, and tears it takes for athletes to excel on the field,” said Rep. Owens. “The Biden administration’s radical gender agenda deprives hard working female athletes of fair competition, goes against America’s founding principles of equal opportunity, and undermines Title IX protections. I am proud to support the Title IX Congressional Review Act to ensure our daughters have a fair shot at achieving their dreams.”

This legislation builds on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which ensures that women and girls are allowed a fair playing field in competitive sports by preventing institutions that receive federal funding from allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports.
