WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) co-sponsored the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, legislation to ensure that women and girls are allowed a fair playing field in competitive sports by preventing institutions that receive federal funding from allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports.”

“As a father of five girls and grandfather to 12 girls, I believe that forcing biological females to compete against biological males is an unacceptable compromise that abandons the rights of one group to placate another,” said Rep. Owens. “I am proud to support the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to fairly enforce Title IX and level the playing field for women and girls in sport.”
