We’re now more than two weeks into the Democrat Shutdown.
While Senator Chuck Schumer says, “every day gets better for us,” America’s families and workers are paying the price.
Our military men and women aren’t getting paid, our Border Patrol agents aren’t getting paid, furloughed federal employees can’t return to work, veterans are facing delays in accessing their earned benefits, and small businesses can’t access federal loans they rely on.
Here’s the truth: ➡️ 70% of Americans oppose the government shutdown. ➡️ 65% say Democrats should accept Republicans’ clean, nonpartisan continuing resolution.
House Republicans did our job. We passed a clean, seven-week funding extension with no gimmicks, no partisan add-ons, and no wasteful spending—just a bill to keep our troops paid, veterans cared for, and government open while Congress completes the appropriations process.
But Senate Democrats refused unless they could attach $1.5 trillion in new partisan spending.
Senate Democrats are holding America hostage to fund a liberal wish list that has nothing to do with keeping the government running.
I joined the Rod and Greg Show to talk about what this means for Utah and how we can get Washington back to work.
