Owens Supports Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) co-sponsored the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, legislation to exclude abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, from receiving Title X funding. Specifically, the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act prohibits awards of federal family planning grants to entities that perform elective abortions and increases reporting requirements for the Department of Health and Human Services for more transparency and accountability.

“As a father of 6 and a grandfather to 16, I strongly believe in the inalienable sanctity, value, and worth of every life – born and unborn,” said Rep. Owens. “I proudly support the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act because it respects the sincerely held beliefs of pro-life Americans by halting any federal funding to organizations violating the unalienable right to life.”
