WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) joined the Congressional Taiwan Caucus, the largest Congressional Member Organization in the United States Congress, tasked exclusively with improving American–Taiwanese relations.

“The need for Congress’ unwavering support of Taiwan grows by the day as the Chinese Communist Party’s military provocations and inflammatory rhetoric escalate an already dangerous situation. Confronting China in support of Taiwan’s independence remains a bipartisan issue in Washington and I am proud to officially join the Congressional Taiwan Caucus to continue strengthening the ties between our two nations,” said Rep. Owens.

Earlier this month, Rep. Owens returned from his second visit to Taiwan, where he joined the Republican Study Committee to meet with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President William Lai to share our nation’s bipartisan support of the relationship between Taiwan and the U.S.
