Owens Honors Heroes in Education

As the first of many local recognitions, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) yesterday honored two heroes in education, Elizabeth Halloran of West Jordan and Roger Morgan of Saratoga Springs. Roger Morgan is the head custodian at Vista Heights Middle School who was selected because of his work to ensure the school was ready for in-person learning after challenges due to COVID-19. Elizabeth Halloran has been chosen as Utah’s nominee for the Patrica Behring Teacher of the Year Award in the junior division of the National History Day Contest, an award to recognize the pivotal role teachers play.

“Roger Morgan and Elizabeth Halloran are pillars of the Fourth District and have made a long and lasting impact on countless students, teachers, and families,” said Rep. Owens. “I was honored to meet them and relay my gratitude for their many years of service.”
