Owens Co-Sponsors Bill to Repeal Biden’s Natural Gas Tax

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) co-sponsored H.R. 484, legislation to strike the Natural Gas Tax imposed by President Biden in the Inflation, Recession and IRS Army Act. New fees or taxes on energy companies will raise costs for customers, creating a burden that will fall most heavily on American families.

“Families in my district and across the nation are struggling to make ends meet due to President Biden’s inflation, high gas prices, and supply chain upheavals,” said Rep. Owens. “House Republicans are putting a stop to this administration’s burdensome gas tax that will only worsen the pain at the pump. I am proud to support the Natural Gas Tax Repeal Act to reverse these reckless energy policies and cut costs for hard working Americans.”
