Owens Appointed to Education and Labor, House Judiciary Committees

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) has been appointed to serve on the Committee on Education and Labor and House Judiciary Committee for the 117th Congress.

“It’s an honor to be selected for these committees, and I look forward to getting to work,” said Congressman Owens. “From early learning to higher education, every student deserves access to a high-quality education – regardless of race, income, or zip code. I will work alongside my colleagues to deliver that and further strengthen health care, job training, and retirement security. On the House Judiciary Committee, I will work hard to combat human trafficking, address the dangers of censorship, and protect the civil liberties of all Americans.”

The Committee on Education and Labor is tasked with ensuring the needs of all Americans are addressed so that students and workers can find success in a developing school system and a flourishing global economy.

The House Judiciary Committee is at the forefront of some of the most significant issues facing America, including federal courts, law enforcement agencies, constitutional amendments, anti-trust laws, terrorism and crime, and immigration reform.
