MEDIA ADVISORY: Owens to Visit the Southern Border with Speaker Johnson

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, January 3, Congressman Burgess Owens (UT-04) will travel to Eagle Pass, Texas with House Speaker Mike Johnson and several members of Congress to highlight the national security and humanitarian crisis President Biden created at the U.S. southern border.

“In Joe Biden’s first 100 days, he took 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting border wall construction, ending the successful Remain in Mexico policy, dismantling border security, and more, resulting in the worst border crisis our country has ever seen,” said Rep. Owens. “While the White House takes its marching orders from progressives and points fingers at ‘MAGA Republicans,’ our House Republican Majority will continue working to restore security at the southern border, end illegal immigration, stop the deadly flow of fentanyl, and prioritize the safety of all Americans. I look forward to hearing directly from Border Patrol Agents and local officials on the ground in Eagle Pass, Texas, a frontline community that has seen record-breaking border crossings for three years straight. We have no time to waste, and I urge the Senate to immediately take up H.R. 2 and put an end to this unmitigated disaster.”
