ICYMI: Education and Labor GOP Freshmen Members Push for In Person Hearings

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Education and Labor Committee Republican Freshmen, led by Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI), penned a letter to Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott urging him to resume in-person committee business immediately.

In the letter, the Members write: “As we work diligently to encourage and support businesses and schools with the resources to open their doors and overcome the setbacks of the pandemic, we worry the precedent it sets that the congressional committee of jurisdiction will not do it themselves. Furthermore, as freshmen members of Congress and the committee, we have not yet had the opportunity to work collaboratively and holistically with our colleagues in a full committee manner.”

The letter is signed by: Burgess Owens (R-UT), Reps. Julia Letlow (R-LA), Marianette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI), Mary Miller (R-IL), Bob Good (R-VA), and Diana Harshbarger (R-TN).
