Owens Co-Sponsors Legislation to Ensure Only the American Flag Can Fly Over U.S. Embassies

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) co-sponsored the Old Glory Only Act to prohibit any flag other than the American flag from being flown over American embassies or consulates.

“My dad was a WWII veteran and taught me what our nation’s flag represents: Freedom, opportunity, and hope for all races, religions, and backgrounds,” said Rep. Owens. “To fly any other flag over our embassies is a slap in the face to the American heroes who fought and served so we can live in the greatest country on earth.”
