Antisemitism: Owens to Press Harvard, MIT, UPenn Presidents
WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, December 5, at 10:15 a.m. ET, Higher Education and Workforce Development Chair Burgess Owens (UT-04) will participate in an Education and the Workforce hearing titled “Holding Campus Leaders Accountable and Confronting Antisemitism.” The full committee hearing will feature testimony from Harvard University President Dr. Claudine Gay, University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology President Dr. Sally Kornbluth.
“Antisemitism has no place in America, yet it has found a home on our college campuses,” said Rep. Owens. “These institutions have failed to fulfill their core responsibility of keeping students and staff safe by allowing hate, harassment, and violence towards the Jewish community to continue unabated. I look forward to hearing from the presidents of Harvard, UPenn, and MIT about their plans to show the world that our higher education system is not a safe haven for terrorist sympathizers.”
